Just saw that Don Demeter died, surprised [maybe few here realize it] that no one mentioned that his best years and 40% of his career was spent as a Philadelphia Phillie

Thank's CD. Despite being a huge Phillies fan for 40 years, I somehow totally missed Demeter's presence and accomplishments on the Phillies (well before my time, but I used to study Phillies Encyclopedia books when I was kid). Other than prime Utley I can't imagine they've had a better season from a second baseman.

Maybe if a 6’4”ish Don Demeter could handle third base for the Phillies, an inch taller Alec Bohm can as well? Demeter played it well enough that he could have been an AS in ‘62. He was not a GG at the position but adequate.
