Remembering a Phillie who was, quite simply, good people

I remember meeting Cormier during one of those holiday festivals the Phillies used to hold in December at The Vet. We talked for what must have been 10-15 minutes in the clubhouse that day and I remember talking with him about having a corner locker, which was a veteran's privilege at the time. I remember walking away thinking what a nice guy he was,and I always rooted for him a little extra after that. That must have been after the 2002 season. He went on to have an excellent 2003 season which people don't remember much partly because that 2003 team fizzled in September and fumbled away a potential playoff berth to the eventual world champion Marlins.

RIP Rheal, gone too soon.

Sometimes, I wonder if we should have separate thread for just Phillies death notices. That would make a lot of work for the mods to go through this whole thread and sort the Phillies deaths out, though.

That might not be a bad idea or perhaps two threads, one for former Phillies and other baseball players and one for people from other walks of life.
