EVH, Chris Squire, Neal Peart, David Bowie afterworld superband
I thought that the band could do with a keyboardist, xogfog. That got me into a tizz over whether Rick Wakeman is still with us. All good!
Keith Emerson and Ray Manzarek are available
Yep! Mostly, we're all just getting older flyers19w. Worst of all, many of our 'musical heroes' are not that much older than us!
Jeez, I'd forgotten all about Emerson. I'm not quite as familiar with Manzarek's name, but, by God, I know his 'sound'. It's as iconic as Morrison's voice.
I didn't realize he was that old as he always displayed an aura of vigor.
He was the best Bond, though I have to say that I've liked Daniel Craig a lot. If I had to rank the best Bonds, I would say:
Well I think it's also because we haven't actually seen him onscreen for almost 20 years. He was a vigorous 70 then.
Daniel Craig isn't even playing James Bond. He's playing a character closer to Jason Bourne. Good actor though. Was great in Knives Out.
Just part of the modernization of the character. Wait until the next one!
We still haven't finished watching Knives Out. Apparently, we were enjoying it - all I can remember is that Craig played a "Southern gentleman". I thought he was pretty good in Layer Cake. A very good actor.
I intensely disliked the few early Bond movies that I saw, so I'm prejudiced against all Bonds, including Connery's. I'd definitely rank Craig's Bond no.1.
I recall my father and I watching Connery in a movie called The Hill. It's a fond memory.
You didn't like Goldfinger? My God, what's there not to like about "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!"
My dad was a James Bond fan. When I was a kid, our family used to go to the drive in to watch Bond movies. Bond as written was a postwar male fantasy. Before the women’s movement Of the sixties and seventies. Daniel Craig as evolved Bond to a 21st male while still maintaining essential Bond charm. He’s more multi-dimensional. Connery was such a good actor, he could have played Daniel Craig’s Bond, too.
Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek, 80.
The question: What is heartbroken? Answer: MeAlex you will be missed. RIP
Alex grew to be a comfortable part of most days as we usually watched Jeopardy following the local and national news. I recently read his book, The Answer Is......Reflections on My Life. Alex was a most interesting and entertaining person. We will miss him.
Phillies clues on Jeopardy through the years.
