Take a good look at that Chris Short baseball card it is rare. Why? Because for some reason both Short and shortstop Maury Wills didn't have contracts with Topps for several years in the early 60's and weren't featured when the cards came out.
As someone who tried to get the entire 7 series set of cards it was always frustrating to me to not have a Short or Wills so I recall cutting out a Chris Short picture from the Sporting News [and my was it an amazing paper back in the early 60's!] and taping it onto another card that I had doubles of [two cards of the same insignificant player, probably Bob Oldis or Billy Klaus!] so I could have the entire roster of players.
I read once why Short and Wills didn't have contracts but can't remember the reason. In any even, I believe the first Short card came out in 1965 or 66, a few years after he became a star.
