Comments on the site - Problems to Address?

Feel free to make comments about the new site's appearance, function, etc., here. We'll see what we can do.

For example, PC already commented about the size of avatars in posts - and I was able to figure out how to increase that. So, there's hope...

For those that may be having difficulty gaining access: On the Login screen, just click on the "I forgot my password" link, and the board will send you an email, which will give you a link to reset your password. You WILL have to "reset" your password, although I believe you can use the same one you used in the past.

If you're having trouble with this, and just can't make it work (for instance, if you no longer have access to the email account you used to register at philliesphans!) - email me at philliesphans@warpmail.net, describing your problem, and we'll get it fixed!.

I can't figure out how to edit a post. Is that feature disabled?

It should be enabled, though it's a bit hard to find. Try clicking on the menu icon (three dots) just to the left of the Reply button:

The edit function only appears to be available for new posts, if you were maintaining any posts that need to be edited from the old site data, it does not seem to be possible.

Ah. There is still a background process that is doing some post-processing on the imported posts. Perhaps editing won't work until it's finished with the post in question... That process should be done in the next few days, so let us know if it continues after that.

xogfog - is it a REALLY old post? There is a limit (which we can configure) to how long a post remains editable after its original posting. That limit is currently configured (by default) as 60 days.

For what it's worth, I've had no difficulty editing some posts that were migrated from the old site - but as Chris noted, until the background processes are finished (I'd guess at least 24 hours more), I wouldn't want to assert that we "know" what your issue may be.

yeah, it is the first post of the Eagles current season thread, which I was keeping up to date with roster moves, scores, etc... I suppose the 60 days coincided with the migration, but I remember being able to edit last season's initial post during the whole season, so a bit confusing.

Another issue, as I type this on my iPad, the site logo blocks the typing window as the keyboard pops up. I can see what I type in the preview window, but the logo is blocking access to the first third of the first 5 or 6 lines of type and the formatting tools.

I don't know what would be causing that. I'm keying this response on my iPhone, as a test, and I'm not even seeing the logo.

You say you see the Preview window? I do not, on the iPhone. Have you configured your iPad browser to identify as a non-mobile browser?

I don't know - I'll look into it, but a quick scan of the user preferences didn't turn that up...

One nice feature we did not have before is the "Dismiss" of a Topic. This will take this topic and have it NOT show up in your "New" list when someone posts in it.

I suspect that's going to be the case with all multiple-word usernames - I haven't seen anything documenting it, but I notice that when open a new browser and click the "Sign Up" button, it specifies "no spaces" in the username.

We could compress your username to "VoteForKalas" if you like? I also suspect that Vote.for.Kalas would work.

How do I go to the last post in a topic if it is marked as read? Normally I would click on the last page but page numbers do not seem be visible.

Aha! Never mind. If you click on the activity time, it takes you to the last post.
