I dunno that he's gonna get that, but it might mean the negotiation will take a while. If I understand it correctlly it doesn't really matter for the Sixers either way (in terms of the cap, it's still real money of course).. Like, even just about lowest number they could sign him for is going to make it difficult to also sign Yabu.

Watford seems like a useful player.

The sixers will have a chance to be a good team with some luck and the fact that the Pacers and Celtics will be significantly worse next year.

Only two years $12 million. I thought the Sixers could have gotten him for $5.7 which suggests both sides were just planning to move on (or Yabu just wants a better chance to win, such as it is).

Very strange article. It lists Edgecomb as our first rounder, but it says we didn't have any second rounders. We drafted Broome in the second round.

Have watched 35 minutes of the first Sixers summer league game and THANK GOD we drafted Edgecombe instead of Bailey.

And it's not too early to make that call. I made it months ago.

Yes he does. The key fact there is that he took 7.

I mean Maxey would go like through 1-10 stretches his rookie year. If you didn't want someone who would struggle occasionally as he develops as a shooter, you draft Tre Johnson. Edgecombe is 19 years old. His shooting will get better. He still found a way to put up 28 last night.

He also needs to put on some muscle. But he's going to be a star. He was by far the best player on the court last night.

Edgecombe was +10 last night and almost carried them to a win. Unfortunately, the Sixers second team summer league guys were getting outscored 2-1 every time they subbed them in. Jalen Springer looked like a potential MVP against the B team when Edgecombe was not on the court. Bailey -12 and invisible.

Bona looked good. Plays with energy as always and much improved defensively compared to this time last year. Broome was as advertised. Slick, knows how to play, but unathletic. Hood-Shifino, man, that guy is out-of-control. And not in a good way.

As is always the case, the first game of this annual show and tell has 30 plus kids all trying to be seen and make a positive impression. Obviously, this leads to very sloppy basketball. But VJ absolutely stood out in the midst of chaos. He was smooth and effective on offense and played more like a veteran than a rookie. He carried the team offensively and was clearly the go-to guy. In a very raggedy defensive effort the Sixers tried their best against a very hard nosed, rough edged, tough Utah team who took full advantage of the 10 foul rule. The refs tried their best to control the mayhem but on defense the game is often out of control. Our rookies flashed some good plays and positive instincts but the defense made it hard to evaluate the players. It was like the old days at A and Champlast, where rough beat reason. I'll give our team an 82! At least they were fun to watch.

Agree on talent. He seemed the better player. With his draft games I am utterly convinced that Bailey is a personality we just can't have on the team. We've had too many top picks that bombed out for us, more on attitude than on talent. I think the Sixers are learning that they need to focus far more strongly on attitude/personality than they have in past. That lack is really what killed this team.

Edwards, VJ, Bona, and Broome matter; pretty much everyone else is headed to Delaware or home. All four showed pretty well yesterday, even though they lost to a Utah team that could really shoot and played two good rotation players from last year. As usual, we couldn’t shoot the 3s at all well ourselves, even open ones.

Bringing back Lowry is probably a good thing strictly that he can play the role of an informal asst.coach to the young guards.

Every minute Nurse puts Lowry on the floor in non-garbage time is a crime against basketball. I hope he understands that Lowry is a coach.

Lowry doesn't really bring anything to the table...hopefully he's this team Udonis Haslem.
