Really good to see some new relief pitchers and 2 of 3 looked pretty good. Disappointing to see Marte regress last outing. The pen now missing two shut down arms in Alvarado and Seranthony. Saw some scribe thought the pen was a third trade option for the Phils. The Phils' pen can be shutdown and it is a team strength, but the DL is claiming some of these guys. Maybe some rooks are ready, but the Phils would be wise to acquire another shutdown reliever, even to make that the priority of trading.
Could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the count get to 3 - 0 against Turner. Didn't think it was possible.
The Phils' reluctance to put Harper in the field is just fine with me. Tells you their confidence in his arm is none too.
No need to be anxious while the team is winning, but we're all anxious anyway. Harper finally hit one out again. The Phils will be a different team when he starts hitting for power.
Some SF Chronicle scribe wrote about "The Ten Biggest Reason The Giants Need To Sign Ohtani". Bottom line is the Giants are likely to be all in on him and they have the cash and they have the prospects. They even have "Japan Town" in SF. A friend of his interpreter says he will only sign on the west coast, what we pretty much expected but hoped against. Gotta like SF's chances if the Angels can ever accept losing him, which looks inevitable to everybody but the Angels. Though it's tough suffering discrimination for being on the east coast, at least the NYY also suffer it.
Auspicious debut by Rojas - namesake of the famous Cookie!
