Games used to go faster, of course, one reason was lack of offense for decades.
I like the faster pace, b/c in the age of OPB, I suspect hitters are more disciplined, which means longer ABs, so the time between pitches matters more.
Once we get used to it, with the end of the shift, rules that get rid of throwing the ball over 8 times to 1B, games will be faster but there will be more actual plays, from more hits, more steals, faster walks, etc.
So we won't see 3 hour games with 6 walks and 20 Ks and almost nothing happening, we'll see 3 hour games with 30 hits, 5 steals, etc., not a snooze fest.
In effect, the game in its heyday, the 1930s to 1950s, before pitchers developed an arsenal that killed hitting, then the 3 outcomes killed any real action, watching hitters walk, strikeout and occasionally hit a HR.
