Good point though I still want to use Soto more I think. Carroll is the obvious target but more importantly Soto is not awful. Guys with a mid-4 ERA need to be used. It is not as if he was used as a LOOGY much in the regular season too. Certain right-handed bats can be pitched around if need be. I think I have as much confidence in Soto now compared to Kimbrel.

Think the key for Lefties is a plus changeup that tails away from RH hitters, a good 2 seamer that tails also helps.
Ranger and Sanchez both have the changeup, which is why they've been successful this offseason.

The FB/Slider LH RPs are harder to fit,b/c RH hitters can pick up on the slider.

Bohm hasn't been on track the whole playoffs really, at least Stott had one huge hit and Casty's just been streaky. But at least they're doing it on defense too.

Their defense really has saved the day in many ways. In fact, the team's defense is light years better than it used to be all around the diamond.

Bohm has had some bad hitting luck, hard hit balls right at people or good plays by their defense, but you're right he has been searching for the feel at the plate all playoffs.

Hopefully, Casty can flip the script again. If he can, having him at #7 really lengthens our lineup. Stott is probably my favorite player on this team so it is hard for me to be objective; I have a sense he will get going with the bat soon.

We'll see tonight if the lineup, outside of the top 3 of Schwarber, Turner & Harper, can hit Kelly this time and help us build a lead to support Nola.

I would like to see two RHB between Schwarber and Harper and another two between Harper and Stott. That would mean any LHP who came in to face Schwarber or Harper would risk having to face two RHB.

yeah it would be kind of nice to see but he's not a change things up when it is going good kind of guy.

I think he has already said Ranger will be in the bullpen tonight. Of course he should not be used. Probably not before the 9th either. But if you're winning and he's needed as the closer, you're not thinking about tomorrow (or him blowing the save).

Hard to see us using Suarez tonight.

I can't imagine Suarez tonight is anything other than an option to close the game if Alvarado, Hoffman and Strahm have been used up and the game is in need of someone who can stop the bleeding to close out a win.

Some. But haow long has it been since he's gapped something into right center. Even a decent HH fly ball? He's occasionally lining the ball at #B but I don't think he's back to himself until he's mixing in a good number of swings toward right center.

Horrible decision in my opinion....I would rather have seen a 1 game deal and make him serve it against the team he hit....tonight game 7. Who cares about 2 games next season?

Umps did not give a warning so there really was not much precedent to suspend him in the playoffs. Consistency in suspensions is not MLB's strong suit and while they can legally do anything they want, it would definitely have created unneeded controversy for them.

They played in the game 5 against the Cardinals and lost in 2011. I was there. Maybe somehow they can win tomorrow.
