I can't imagine him replacing Sanchez as a good idea. Sanchez has been excellent lately. Whose spot in the rotation should he take (I am guessing Sanchez is the only option). Kinda seemed like we solved a problem we didn't have.

I expect we go to a 6 man rotation at this point.

He has a lot or relief experience (the multi-inning kind). Could easily slot in a 2-3 inning relief role in the postseason. Maybe tandem with Sanchez for a couple of times around the rotation too right away. I expect him to mostly start in the regular season.

Bader started swinging at everything for some reason in 2021 and it has gotten worse season by season. I think he's a bad acquisition, so we'll probably get him.

Hernandez's numbers this season are .238/.288/.406 with 16 home runs and 59 RBI in a pitcher friendly park in Seattle. If he's traded to Philadelphia, his numbers could look much similar to when he was with the Toronto Blue Jays where he hit above .250/.310/.490 the last two seasons. <

Maybe, and maybe I like that idea. But do we really want to reduce the number of starts the Wheeler and Nola get? I know it is smart to do that to get deep in the playoffs, but we are in a real dogfight to get to the playoffs, and despite what happened last year it is MUCH better to be the #1 wild card than the 3rd.

I hate the idea of getting 2-3 fewer starts for our best guys.

Agreed. I phrased it badly.. but i think its either him or Marte. Covey hasnt been bad since those first couple outings

A six man rotation could be very helpful for both Nola and Wheeler to give them some extra rest. That could pay off big during the stretch run.

I like the idea of a 6 man rotation, but think they probably need another bullpen arm (or for Rob to start using Covey or Vazquez - who ever stays - more often). You have to remember that a 6 man rotation means you have one less bullpen arm. I feel like certain guys in our bullpen have been taxed heavily lately.
