Not sure that was really necessary, while it's true the rosters change between each series this was more of a global, pre-postseason speculation thread, whereas at this point changes are more like everyday transactions, and part of the game/series news. Someone who doesn't bother to read this thread (or doesn't read all new posts like I do) now won't know about this stuff (tho it will probably all just get posted/discussed again in the other two threads anyway)

Robertson not being on the roster hurts. As iffy as he’s been, he’s much better than some of the alternatives.

Well, that's why I bumped the thread to the top - so it would be seen.

As for the second-guessing... No reason why my choices shouldn't be subject to the same treatment as Dombrowski's choices, or Thomson's! Comes with the territory.

Why is Maton out? Why is Gibson on the roster? Why isn't Hall on the roster? You know what I am just thrilled they are playing in October...

Guthrie is a bit more versatile defensively than Maton and probably runs better, plus he's right-handed.

Gibson is the long man. He'll soak up some innings if the Phil's get blown out early in one of these games

Gibson was never off the roster. Nelson replaced Robertson.

Game 4 pitchers are still a complete unknown, depending on their usage until then.

Or maybe Gibson should have been Ranger's opener after all (would have been Thor though).

Robertson helped a lot until Seranthony got hurt. Phillies might not even be in the playoffs without that trade. A better reliever would have cost a lot more than Brown.

Of course if Coonrod and Brogdon could have delivered as well as Alvarado has, or if Knebel had worked out (IMO Familia was never going to be good) they wouldn't have needed him in the first place.

I saw Matt W on Twitter wondering if the Phillies may yet bring back Coonrod or even summon Morales from Arizona but for now i would think they'd like to use Thor. Ideally we still never see Nelson or Gibson.
