Before they traded for Marsh, they had Long look at hours of film on him to see if he could be "fixed."
So I doubt they make that move without Long signing off.
So it'll be interesting to watch Marsh this year and next year, to see if the wizard can perform his magic.
Marsh lost a lot of development time, so if Long can get him up to .700+ OPS, that will fix CF, allow them to live with corner OFs with limited range, and to keep Rojas and Muzzioti in AAA ball for a full season or more instead of rushing them. And Vierling becomes a RH platoon option and supersub.
Which sets the lineup, outside of SS/2B for the next few years.
Stubbs/Sands/Marchan, Hall, Sosa, Maton, Vierling becomes your low cost but useful bench.
Realmuto, [Hoskins], Stott/???, Bohm, Schwarber, Marsh, Harper, Castellanos.
The two decisions are extending Hoskins and who pairs with Stott.
