It's funny to me to see them called "major disappointments." Who other than an optimisic fan or homer columnist thought they were better than a .500 team?
If anything I'd say they are exceeding my expectations, because the offense will likely find its way and holes will get uptraded if they're in contention.
Whereas If Alec Bohm can't hit or Didi Gregorius can't play shortstop anymore (coupled with Kingery's issues) we've got bigger problems
One underrated problem: the huge hole in centerfield also reduces options in left if Cutch doesn't come around. Yeah, we have a lot of guys who can do it, but it would be nice if Haseley and Quinn were also possibilities.
Heck, I think at the time we signed Cutch, the assumption was that he'd transition to a platoon with Herrera, and Haseley would be in CF with Moniak on the way.
