Exactly... he was saying the Phillies waited too long to break down after their run from 2007-2011. And ended up in mediocrity with old players. He didnt want to do that with the Cubs, He wanted to get value from the core while they still had value.

I think most of have said they tried to patch together to keep try to squeeze more out of that 2008 core for way longer than they should have. Hes saying the same thing
