The Seattle Mariners are acquiring second baseman/outfielder Adam Frazier in a trade with the San Diego Padres, sources familiar with the agreement tell ESPN. Going to San Diego will be hard-throwing left-handed reliever Ray Kerr and outfielder Corey Rosier.

It does seem part of the Mets strategy is to work around the qualifying offer free agents that would cause them to lose I think the 11th pick in the draft as they get that comp pick for Rocker and it is the team's 2nd highest pick (not the second round necessarily). They clearly care less about the competitive balance threshold (now they are at about $230 million), but we actually don't know what the penalties will be. The cap could easily be raised a considerable amount over the current $210 million because revenues have increased faster than the threshold.

Clearly they are sending a statement that they will spend, and being in New York they probably will still be pretty profitable.

Free-agent RHP Corey Kluber in agreement with Rays on one-year deal, pending physical, sources tell @TheAthletic . Kluber, 35, missed more than three months with right shoulder strain before rejoining Yankees in late August. Finished with 3.83 ERA in 80 IP, including no-hitter.

— Ken Rosenthal ( @Ken_Rosenthal ) November 28, 2021

It’s an $8MM contract, plus incentives, which could take the value of the deal as high as $13MM.

Considering how everything the Rays touch turns to gold, Kluber should return to his Cy Young form in 2022.

Marcus Semien's deal with the Texas Rangers is for seven years and $175 million, a source familiar with the agreement tells ESPN.

Per sources the Miami Marlins are nearing an agreement with Free Agent Outfielder Avisail García on a four year contract. $53M. First of many big moves on the horizon for the Marlins.

— Craig Mish ( @CraigMish ) November 28, 2021

Stove is definitely getting hot. They are saying Bryant won't sign before the lockout. Lots of teams sniffing Taylor. My guess is Phillies are more focused on LF (Schwarber?) and closer.

Sources: Mets have offered Scherzer more than $40 million per year. Length unknown. Doesn’t mean he’ll sign there; that’s still unclear.

BREAKING: Right-hander Kevin Gausman and the Toronto Blue Jays are in agreement on a five-year, $110 million contract, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN.

— Jeff Passan ( @JeffPassan ) November 29, 20211

But not really. An overwhelming majority of the available players, good ones included, will still be available post-lockout. The real question is have the Phillies even tried to sign any of the players who are no longer available? They couldn't have tried that hard on Hector, even.

Also, it's three full days (plus three hours tonight). December 2 isn't until Thursday.

My mistake - I thought it was December 1st. But my comment was about the mad rush to get things done before things shut down for awhile. I know that there will be another hot stove season, but who knows when it will start.

Sources indicate the Miami Marlins and Pitcher Sandy Alcantara are in agreement on a 5 year 56 million dollar contract extension. Deal is pending a physical, though club has not confirmed yet. Will be the largest contract in MLB History ever given to a Pitcher with 3 years of arbitration remaining.

— Craig Mish ( @CraigMish ) November 29, 2021

Don’t get to say this often, but big day for the Marlins. Total of $109M in commitments to free-agent outfielder Avisail Garcia (4 yrs., $53M) and right-hander Sandy Alcantara (5 yrs., $56M, per @CraigMish ).

— Ken Rosenthal ( @Ken_Rosenthal ) November 29, 2021

I feel like im doing the trade deadline all over again

The Angels and right-hander Michael Lorenzen have agreed to a one-year deal worth roughly $7MM, as per FanSided’s Robert Murray
