We did have a Wall of Fame thread but since there was no hype/voting this year it didn't get revived. The Phillies changed the requirements in 2016, basically so Thome could get in (and knowing Halladay was coming, though obviously they didn't expect the circumstance).
2016 Wall of Fame eligibility requirements: "Players, managers and coaches with four or more years of service are eligible. All candidates must be retired for three years before they can be eligible for the 12-man ballot. In addition to a player's statistical record, consideration is given to longevity, ability, contributions to the Phillies and baseball, character, plus special achievements."
2015 Wall of Fame eligibility requirements: "Players with five or more years of service are eligible. Managers and coaches need four or more years of service. All candidates must be retired for three years before they can be eligible for the 12-man ballot. In addition to a player's statistical record, consideration is given to longevity, ability, contributions to the Phillies and baseball, character, plus special achievements."
Somehow Pete didn't trigger the character clause. The Jamie Moyer thing is still a mystery.
