Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes agree to a 10 year deal worth $450MM, with $140MM guaranteed. Overall salary is NOT tied to the salary cap number.

I hate to say it but the NFL is such a coldhearted mega business with so much money at stake, I wouldn't put it past the league to tolerate a handful of players dying of the virus as a necessary cost for having the season played. I mean, it doesn't mater that their brains get mashed in, does it?

I don't think any one league has the moral high ground here. Colleges neither! But for the NFL to combine the mistakes baseball is making (no bubble) with the game's roster sizes and physicality makes it seem like the worst possible scenario.

I don't think they'd survive a player death though. If they tried there'd be a strike. NFL players are already frustrated with how little power they have.
