Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving is opting into his $37 million player option for the 2022-23 season, @TheAthletic @Stadium has learned. Irving is bypassing on multiple opt-in and trade scenarios to fulfill his four-year commitment to the Nets and Kevin Durant.

Harden will opt out of his option and sign a free agent deal with the sixers...I would imagine this should clear the way for the sixers to sign tucker without salary dumping.

I was confused by Woj's tweet, thought he was implying Harden might take the $10.5 MLE but I presume what he meant is it would have been off the table for anyone had he opted in and now it won't be.

And PC, you were right about Pompey, who also got this one wrong (he wrote yesterday that Harden was going to opt-in and add two cheaper years).

Sixers can now use the full MLE 10 million and change but also can complete sign and trades and actually build a bench...lots of people are going to mad at the end of the "selfish harden" reputation.

Gotta think they are still trying to trade Tobias, but now they don't have to. He also might be easier to move in-season (less money owed, teams that are out of it willing to take the $ and re-trade him).

I guess my issue with trading him is he was either the 2nd or 3rd best player in the playoffs...to trade him you'd have to add something you want to keep.

Of course, it depends what else they might want/try to get (and they also still have Matisse to deal). But he is also better at the forward position Tucker will be taking. I just still don't know that it's an Eastern Finals core with him plus whatever other role players remain to be added (a shooter, presumably).

I think a good trade would be Tobias, Thybulle and Korkmaz to the Hawks for Collins and Bogdanovic.

Dante DiVincenzo is now a free agent too, I always liked him, and thing he would flourish with the Sixers.

It's a long shot, but could you imagine if the Sixers could somehow get Durant to add to Embiid and Harden? I would have to convince the Queen of England to award Morey knighthood.

Looks like P.J. Tucker is signing with the 76ers. Danuel House to the 76ers as well.

Tucker - 3 years, 33.2 mil, House - 2 years, 8.5 mill

Durant to the 76ers makes some sense if he has any say in where he wants to go. Phoenix is he odds on favorite, but Durant has a lot of business in NY and is also part owner of the Philadelphia Union soccer team. Phoenix doesn't make sense from that standpoint, but they could probably send the better package. I don't want to trade Maxey, but if it gets me Durant, you have to do that.

Sixers sign G Trevelin Queen, was a rookie last year in Houston, didn't play much but made 37% from 3.

2 year non guaranteed contract could be up to 3.3 mil.

Beal staying in DC which I guess was largely expected (but when has that mattered in the NBA lol).

Will be crazy to see what happens to the Nets. And to Simmons. Two of the ESPN trade proposals send him to either Sacramento or Oklahoma, which would be hilarious.

Acquiring Durant would require trading Maxey, which I'm not willing to do. If Morey can acquire Durant without including Maxey in the trade (Harris+Thybulle and filler + draft picks/swaps) he needs a lifetime contract. As good as Durant is and as much value as he would add to Embiid/Harden I would oppose any trade that includes Maxey.

Also Durant didn't play for the Rockets 5 years ago so he probably isn't in the offseason plan.
