It'll be interesting but I think it's still just as likely they ride it out until the summer. It feels like the drama has cooled, and there's not much that will really make the Sixers feel like a Top 4 team (i.e., conference finals or better).
Of course waiting around for Lillard might not be a strategy either, he is hurt and is going to want his max extension (which is also why the Blazers will ultimately trade him).
The part that hasn't changed is it would be better for everyone if the dude got on the court, whether it was until the deadline or all season.
One other thing - while basically wasting Ben's salary squanders cap room while leaving a roster hole that can't be filled, one thing the past week has reminded me is that his salary is barely even pocket change for Sixers ownership. Obviously, like all owners, they don't like to dip into their pocket, but it seems likely Morey has permission to eat it rather than lose the battle (or the trade).
