Harden is the better player, but Simmons is younger and under 4 years of control contract-wise. The returns should be similar, although Houston was looking for assets and Morey is probably looking more for great player(s).

Yea I said returns should be similar but the asking price for Simmons according. To the media exceeds the return that the Rockets got for Harden.

As Murphy wrote today, the rumored Warriors ask was outrageous, and yet, it also wouldn't make the Sixers a better team. And the same might go for Beal.

I think it is just as likely they keep Ben and figure out how to get Lowry as trade him before the season. Unless Dame becomes available.

So I’m a big Donovan Mitchell fan (went to Louisville), which in retrospect I guess makes me a little bias when it comes to Simmons. The Jazz would never do this trade but interested to know if Sixers fans would do Simmons for Mitchell straight up. I know many Sixers fans don’t like Mitchell because of the ROY beef.

Donovan Mitchell only does one thing better than Simmons...an outside shot...other than that, there is no skill simmons isn't better than simmons...so...i guess it depends if you just want the pure scorer.

Yea that’s the response I thought I’d get from a Sixers fan. Not mad about it but I tend to disagree. Don’t want to get in an argument though as I was just curious so thanks for responding.

What other skill would you want to propose Mitchell is better than Simmons?

I think intangibles are much better. Mitchell is a great leader. Work ethic is better. Mitchell has gotten better every year, Simmons has not. Ball handling is probably better too. Mitchell also has been really good in the postseason the past two years. Simmons has been average. Most advanced statistics favored Mitchell last year too.

The biggest thing for me though is fit. The one thing you say Mitchell is better at than Simmons is the most important thing in the NBA right now. Mitchell is a good enough creator (assist numbers aren’t high for anyone in Utah’s system) that he could play point for the Sixers and the spacing he’d provide would be exponential over Simmons. Just my opinion.

Really pointless to discuss though because Utah would never do the trade and maybe Philly wouldn’t either. Simmons and Gobert are unplayable together.

That's a bargain for Kork! I think Bodner was projecting 3 years 20 million-ish (although I might be recalling incorrectly). Mike Levin thought up to 12 million/yr.

Everything still depends on Ben but there's no way Reed was gonna be the #2 center this year (and he could also be traded).
