Im not a mod and dont play one on tv.. And its not possible.. and I wasnt pointing fingers. It was just an observation. This thread has a heat level beyond what we normally see on this board. It hasnt totally broken down yet but im getting the impression people are getting frustrated with each other which is also unusual for this board.

By observation.. In my opinion I think this is a matter of people needing to agree to disagree. There is a Philadelphia team in the playoffs. A #1 seed too I think (I dont follow basketball.. but root for all philly sports). You all should be enjoying it.

I mean... just no. I've already said that a defensive oriented player can be a major asset. The difference is inefficiency, the salary cap, and draft capital.

Do I think that the 1st overall pick should be able to score? 100% yes.

Simmons is a good player. Pretty much every poster has said that (I assume to diffuse the dislike connotation). It is perfectly fine to critique a player without disliking them.

it's not the end all in the determination of a player...he's at the top of the list for DPOY, rebounds and is an elite shot creator. He also can score when he's called on to do that. He may never turn out to be the offensive threat we hoped but he's a star in this league.

You honestly think efficiency is a one-dimensional view?

Since this is the thread where people don't believe that free throws can't be learned... I've picked up a basketball a handfull of times in the last 15 years. If anyone wants to bet that I can't make 70 out of 100 free throws over the course of 6 months, then I'll book for $5k. I will post a before video if needed.

Oh... Here I am in the Sixers thread - which I have on mute, because I don't give a hoot about the Sixers.

But... somebody flagged a post, so here I am.

All I will say is this: This thread is about the Sixers - so, discuss the Sixers.

But stop discussing one another. If you want to criticize somebody else's argument - that's fine. That's a large part of why we're here. But that doesn't require criticizing one another. There is a difference, and I expect that you all know that difference.

Further - if somebody strays into personal stuff...let it go! Your testicles will not fall off if you decline to respond in kind. If somebody persists (e.g., somebody is trying to provoke a personal response), then flag the posts, and your moderators will deal with that person.

Sixers were up 20-4 and leading by 2 at the half.

Sixers bench being outscored 34-0.

Doc Rivers is not really making adjustments.

A big bench run at the end of Q3 leads to a 16-point solid Sixers win. Shake Milton back from the dead. Embiid gets 40. Ben dogs Trae Young throughout the game and takes a lot of his game away.

Shake Milton was huge for them...they are going to need the bench to play better or this series could get really scary.

Actually have to give Rivers some credit for sticking with Milton after how Shake has played recently. He looked much more comfortable.

Hawks' Hunter out for rest of playoffs with knee injury

Danny Green with a calf strain in the first quarter, out for the rest of the game, in a walking boot. Sixers up large in the 4th. Embiid just took a bad spill, but seems okay, still in the game.

Sixers win 127 to 111. Kormaz had a good game with Green out, 14 points and a team high +24.

Hopefully Green will be able to rest up and take the next couple of games off and be back for the next round.
