I like him as a guy, not as a player.

Also is totally lost on defense.

22 years old and hasn't really played very much...I think he's an unwritten story.

Korkmaz has the potential to score, but I'm not sure his defense will ever approach "average."
Of course, at this stage in his career, Korver is neither the sharpshooter of his prime or an average defender.

Simmons still needs about 10 lbs of muscle (to work inside against the big boys) but that should come the next few yars with natural maturity. Just look at the Greek Freak five years ago and now.

Sixers sign free agent PG Trey Burke to a veteran minimum contract for next season, he'll be in the mix for the backup point guard spot.

That's a great pickup, #9 pick, still only 26, has bounced around but shown flashes of being a starting PG, and certainly provides good depth off the bench.
Last two years 36 and 35% 3 point, 65% and 83% FT (80% career).

Undersized and struggles posted up by bigger guards, but with Jo Jo and Horford behind him, he can use his quicks to gamble instead of just being marched down into the paint. Not a good defender, but on this team coming off the bench, he won't have to be, BB can just keep him away from top scoring guards.

I’m not a Ben Simmons fan (mostly because Donovan Mitchell is my favorite NBA player), but if he develops a jumper, he’ll be the best player in the NBA.

Preseason begins next Tuesday with an exhibition game against the Guangzhou Long-Lions and begins for real against the Magic on 10/13.

The idea that Ben Simmons has a jumper has me so excited for the season...even if it's semi-effective it will change the way teams defend the sixers and i'm not exactly sure how you can gameplan for this group.

Even better than Simmons jumpshot will be the defense on this team. We literally might have very good to the best defender at almost every position. Embiid is a Defensive Player of the year candidate, Horford has always been known for his defense, Simmons, when interested, can shut down any guard and Richardson is also known for his defense. Harris is really the only weak defender amongst the starters, and he isn’t bad, just not his strength.

If this team stays healthy they should lead the league in defense / 100 trips, so the question is going to be health, offense and bench.

This should be a very fun season

Brett Brown probably has a pretty hot seat, if they don’t win 55-60 and at least get to the Conference Finals he should be in trouble

So if you want to shut the other team down, put Thybulle on the court in place of Harris.

Simmons said that Thybulle is one of the toughest players has ever defended him based on practice, and his reputation coming into the league was as a defensive player. That would be one mega-tough lineup to score on.

On another topic, they have to trade Bolden for his own good. He's not going to get any minutes on this team since he can't seem to learn defensive rotations, and he needs to play to figure the rotations out. They could use a really effective point-guard defender like Marcus Smart--I'm not advocating a Bolden-for-Smart trade which is not fair value for Smart and would put us over the cap, but someone like Smart who can really disrupt the point of attack. Maybe Tyler Johnson if the Heat have a fire sale.

I'll believe Simmons has a reliable shot when I see it over the long stretch of real NBA games and see that he is willing to shoot in all situations.

Same with Embiid and his conditioning.

Harris is the other crucial player IMO - for the amount of money he is making, he needs to step up and be a more impactful force on both ends of the court.

Horford, Richardson and the rest will help make us a contender, but the first 3 must perform consistently for us to have a chance to win the ring

I'm also looking forward to seeing what Zhaire Smith brings to the table.

I like the mixture of youth and veterans coming off the bench.
