So, am I the only one that is amused by all the Neris v. Dodgers stuff?
There are actually articles that slant towards Neris angering the Dodgers and their fans. To me this is just the ultimate of political correctness in sports. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH DISLIKING YOUR OPPONENTS. Some players have dislike for some teams, some players just get caught up in a moment and yell things at opponents. They arent supposed to be your friends, you dont have to treat them nicely. Baseball is a long, long season and frankly my guess is that every player, even the stoic Chase Utley, sometimes did things emotionally.
Neris realizes that his ice is getting thin again. He has had a few bad games, and so when the Dodgers succeed against him, it is very possible to just let your emotions take over. I am not advocating violence, or even throwing at a hitter for no reason (I still think he did not), but honestly when you are struggling and you succeed and yell at the opponents dugout it is NOT news. If you always do silliness like that, yes, that is a problem, but a one time outburst is simply competition coming out.
I realize that in todays game (and world), every action is analyzed, and over-analyzed, to look for something provocative to publish, but this is foolishness. Even if Neris is "starting up" against the Dodgers, well, we play them twice a year, who cares? I doubt they would remember it except of course now it is going to be flashed on ESPN before then next time we play them and will be a topic on Pardon The Interruption.
Non-News. Hector Neris is having a rough couple weeks and blurted out... Not worthy of the ink it is printed on (if there was still ink).
