The Union celebrated its first ever playoff win yesterday and moves on to the MLS final four. Will face the defending champion Atlanta United FC.

Yes, you are right but the fact remains that the Union deserves more attention than they have received. Their playoff win didn't even make it to page 1 of the Inquirer's sports section.

Who says we haven't had good "football" in Philadelphia this year?

For sure they do. To me they get a ton of attention from the Inquirer since Tannenwald is also one of the country's best-known MLS writers. But I only read online.

I also don't root for them, the only Philly team where I favor my current residence over my hometown, since I already have far more history with the latter. Though I do have fond memories of Philadelphia Fever indoor soccer. Never went to an NASL game.

Union falls but great season. At least they made the front page of the Inquirer sports section today.

Was a fun year, disappointing, but Atlanta is tough to overcome, especially on the road.
