In addition to getting Green and Ferguson in the Horford trade, the Sixers will also be getting center Vincent Poirier, a rookie last year with the Celtics. The deal also maximizes the Sixers Traded Player Exception to 8.2 Mil. Deal will be official tomorrow.

That doesn't mean the guy stays, mind you. Could be more cap-management moves coming. But overall I would think they want to be set up for the deadline, not now.

I don't love the idea of trading Harden for Simmons but I would think about it in a straight up deal...I'm not adding 3 firsts to that deal...no way.

I don't like any trade scenario for Harden unless you can add him to Joel and Ben, not give either of them back. I just don't think there is any way to do that, I don't think you can entice them with Harris, Thybulle and 2021 and 2020 1st round picks, which is what I'd be willing to offer, nothing more.

I think the Sixers are just biding their time. That Harris package (probably with three first-rounders not two) might get it done at the deadline or next off-season. And if not, they might be ready to move one of Ben or Joel next off-season (not necessariliy for Harris).

The Rockets are in the bad bargaining position here. Harden has already asked to be traded; how many losses until he demands a trade? Harris and one pick, stand firm. Simmons is younger and close to the same quality player; no deal.

And Simmons actually plays defense, too, which is half the game. Harden is capable of playing D, he just doesn't choose to much of the time.

I think at some point they'll take harris and picks for Harden.

I like Harden, but am against trading for him for the simple fact that the Rockets games are so boring to watch.

That was probably Morey's fault

You can't underestimate that aspect of things. I think Morey is better than to bring his attachment to a player into the equation, and for all we know he's not even that attached. But it's also possible that Fertitta won't want to send Harden to his old GM for anything other than the highest possible price. Not unlike when you're trading with a rival.

For sure. But Harden makes even more money than those guys did. Not every team can pay it, or match up.

Seems to me the Sixers best shot w/o Ben could also be a three-way deal.

Obviously if you can trade Tobias instead of Ben for Harden you probably do it in a heartbeat, but Rivers also probably wants Tobias.

Watching last night it seems to me that the sixers may have a better second unit this coming season.

Maxey seems like he's going to be a player. Joe...I think will not play much this season.

PG: Ben Simmons, Shake Milton, Tyrese Maxey

SG: Seth Curry, Matisse Thybulle, Terrance Ferguson, Dakota Mathias (Two-way contract)

SF: Danny Green, Furkan Korkmaz, Isaiah Joe

PF: Tobias Harris, Mike Scott, Paul Reed (Two-way contract)

C: Joel Embiid, Dwight Howard, Tony Bradley, Vincent Poirier
