I'm not sure that trademark issue was ever resolved. Joel has trademarks for "The Process." The guy from CNBC's "The Profit" has trademarks on Trust the Process for his own thing but he can't necessarily control the use of it in what is plainly another context, nor has it stopped all the unofficial merch. But I don't imagine the team has much interest in making that a big part of their marketing at this point.

This is taking off on the twitter machine but if you're trading simmons for harden, you better be confident he has enough juice left to make it something that doesn't kill your franchise.

Either way, I don't think we'd include Simmons or Joel in a deal, just like the Nets wouldn't include Kyrie or Durant. Easier said than done in terms of both value and money, but the point is to do the three-star thing.

if Morey can do it without those two then more power to him but i dont know how it gets done...now, i could see him working his way to facilitate a trade to the nets where we clear salary and maybe get a role piece.

The only way he makes sense for the Sixers to get Harden is if the can do it without including Simmons and Embiid. That is a hard trade to pull off, but you'd have to move Harris and Horford, not sure Houston would want either of them. If they could do it without moving our big two, Sixers are the better fit. Simmons is at least as good if noy better facilitator than Kyrie and a far better defender, and Joel is just a shade less offensively than Durant (assuming he is back 100% from his achilles injury) but he is a better defender as well.

In any case, I would not be surprised if the Sixers stand pat and try to build around the edges, but Simmons, Embiid and Harden would be fun to watch, and they would be instant favorites, not to mention, it would be a more attractive destination for veteran minimum players to choose the Sixers.

Plus the whole point of Harden wanting to come here is to play with Ben and Joel, not to replace one of them. Same with Brooklyn.

The Nets probably have more assets, at least inasmuch as Horford and Harris are not attractive $-wise. Certainly one of them would have to be included just to start making the money work.

Richardson is probably in any deal too.

I think it's going to be fun to watch Morey try and figure it out. Still think if they're really trying to go all-in right away, two of the starting five will be gone, and probably whoever they take in the first round too (if that's what it takes to move Horford). But I guess it doesn't all have to be in the off-season.

There might be an opportunity for the Sixers to get involved in the Harden trade as a broker in a three-way. Nets might have a problem salary-matching and we might be able to help.

I was hoping Cov might be headed to Philly again, but looks like a no-go on that.

I think the Rockets say no. They are trying to contend in the West, and the draft picks don't help them do that. "Heild plus Harris" is too small of a "current window" return on Harden, and they will/can get more from the Nets.

Do the Nets have any player better than Hield or even Harris, without giving back Kyrie? It puts the Nets in the same situation as the Sixers, in that they want Harden to go with Kyrie and Durant. The Rockets do not have any picks in the 2020 draft.. I don't really know if they are trying to win now if they would trade Harden, you almost never get back equal value when trading a superstar.

Edit, the Rockets will be getting a pick in the Covington deal.

I think the Rockets are basically screwed and the Covington deal certainly suggests they are no longer trying to win. Westbrook will still want out too. And in the NBA star players generally tend to pick their team. MIght be different if the Sixers could seriously outbid the Nets but they can't really.

Would the Nets and Sixers actually do a three-way deal together as conference rivals?

And it seems to me if the Kings are willing to take Horford you may as well just get Hield.

At the same time, if the Rockets are willing to take Harris, there's a deal to be made for Harden one way or another, but I doubt they are. I suppose the only way Harris is really tradeable is when another max player is involved though.

NBA Draft is today and there seems to be rumors that the sixers are looking to add someone significant without trading Embiid or Simmons. I wouldn't hold my breath that we will use the 21st picks for a player who plays here this season.

I think that was probably always the case, but even more so now that we have a guy who hasn't kept a first-round pick since 2015. And if it's not the player we take this year who is included in a deal, it would be a near-future first.

Ideally this is the most valuable pick we'll have for several years, but can't be sure of that just yet.

We should probably root for things to not work out for the Rockets, then they could take another run at Harden or Westbrook at the deadline.

The rumors are they are working on Zach Levine but that it's unlikely he will be moved.

Hate tossing in a 1st but any trade that gets Horford out of town has a positive. Danny Green is frankly marginal to even make the team, probably isn’t much better than 8-10 in depth chart (if that), but it gets us out of Horford’s contract.
