I do check those out. But, as of now, only the afternoon games are being posted and they are for the very low minors. I supsect we won't be getting any clues until REA, CLW and maybe LKW start posting their lineups, for example, if we see no Haseley or no Gamboa, etc..

One small thing to remember - new draftees like Bohm cannot be traded until the end of the World Series. Though technically they can always be players to be named later, but once they relaxed that 1-year no trade rule after the draft I don't think we have had too many of those situations.

One more thing to keep an eye on....the Phillie minor league lineups tonight. IF a deal has been made with the Phils the players included will not play tonight. One of my favorite moments in the Cole Hamels deal night was when Squire posted that Nick Williams had just been pulled from a game. We all knew we were getting him at that moment!

Thompson was also pulled after only an inning or two of effective pitching, if I recall correctly.

The fact that a team has a SS won't stop them from pursuing Machado, they'll just trade the SS.

Sure, but it's a factor. Say the Yankees want to give Machado $350 million and the Phillies offer $400 million (forget whether this is a good idea or even what the market will bear, too soon to know that). Are you really gonna match the highest offer at all costs when it's not truly a position of need, and you've already got Stanton's contract? The Phillies need him more (at either position) and have more room to spend big.

I would also add this to the wild theoretical speculation - what if the Yankees win the World Series? They may not want to change a thing. Whereas, sure, if they get stuck with the wild card (quite possible) and go out early, the pressure to make a big move will exist.

The Yankees have 3 players 28 and under with an 800+ OPS at 2B, SS, and 3B. Two of them age 21 and 23. It definitely is a factor to a Yankees organization that really has not done huge financial commitments lately that would give them long term luxury tax issues.

They have more needs on the pitching staff (starters) and even in the OF since Harper could replace Gardner. Why invest huge dollars in a position of organizational strength when you have other more important needs. Yes they could trade Gregorius, but frankly most teams are slotting Machado into 3B in long term plans anyway.

Yes, Harper fits the Yanks' needs more than Machado does. A couple of weeks back, Harper was practicing at first base, possibly to make himself further enticing to the Yanks. The Cubs and Dodgers will also be all-in on Harper. The Yanks may feel pressure to sign one of the big two just because, well, they are the Yankees.

FWIW Dept...Jim Bowden of the Athletic and MLB said today Manny will play tomorrow as an Oriole and then get traded before Friday. David Murphy of the Inquier is doing a Q & A on Twitter and he thinks its the Phillies because he does not believe Middleton will allow anyone to outbid him.

Again, just reporting what is being said without comment. I will say that the Stark interview on 97.5 today has caused a bit of a stir. Apparently [and I haven't heard it] what he said was that the Orioles [not the Phillies] have a handshake agreement on a trade to be announced following the ASG and then went on to say he believes the Phils are the favorites to land him.

My sense is that a deal is done, many insiders know what and who it involves but there is a code of silence right now out of respect for the ASG, and the fact that this is still a somewhat fluid situation [handshake agreements are not binding]. But I will be surprised if something doesn't begin filtering out late tomorrow night.

One more thing...Cubs are interested in Britton so I suspect he has not yet been dealt to the Phillies, even in handshake form.
