2018-19 Sixers Season

They had the #3 defense in the NBA post the Butler trade prior to last night's game.

They were extremely short-handed last night. And team scoring is way up across the entire league with the 14 second clock reset and teams playing faster in general. Their D is fine. It's also hard to play Shamet, Furk, and Redick so much and expect to D-up a team with good wings.

I find it hard to believe they are #3 in the league. They give up an average of 112 pts per game so far and are ranked #12 by nba.com in defensive rating. Is defense that terrible in the league?

It was Simmons' 15th career triple-double in his 111th game, joining Robertson as the only two NBA players to ever post at least 15 triple-doubles in that few games.

Imagine what Simmons could be if he develops a reliable jump shot, he could be among the best players in the entire NBA and be so much harder to defend given his other already great skills.

Oof. There are certainly worse flights/time zone changes, but why are there road back-to-backs at all?

Every Sixers B2B this season has had a road game as the second game. It should be against scheduling rules to have a team travel to a B2B. It's clearly not good for players' health. Or producing a quality product for the fans.

This organization is sometimes hard to root for because of dumb things it does inadvertently, but they do some things on purpose that make me love them:

Sixers waste a really good chance to beat the Celtics, but Redick missed a clean look at a game winner and they lost in overtime.

Basically we know that during a close game against the celtics during the late 4th quarter or overtime, the sixers have a complete inability to execute on offense, and their propensity for turnovers is once again revealed. Tonight was like re-living last Spring's playoff series.

TBF, they executed the play for Redick perfectly, he just missed the shot.

I'm beginning to think Redick is not a clutch player. I'd start setting up last second shots for Butler, with an escape back door cut if he gets doubled,

Agree with you on that particular play, but I meant that - during the final minutes of the 4th as well as during OT - the Sixers generally looked lost and without a plan on offense. They stopped giving Embiid the ball, the Celtics doubling Embiid and leaving Simmons uncovered with the ball at 15 feet and beyond the way they did last Spring.

I so want to believe in the Sixers, but they have yet to beat a good team at full strength this year.

I know this is sacreligious...but am I the only one who has been underwhelmed by Butler as an offensive player?
