Agreed, when Ben was running the team during that run they were exhilarating. I'd never really been enamoured by basketball before then but they moved the ball so quickly that I got caught up in it and now I watch as many of their games as I can (time zone permitting). It helps that they are really good too. I'm gonna be in Philly for Opening day and I'm planning to take in the Sixers games v the Knicks and Bucks.

Having the pregame tickets does change things a little! Though I getthe impression that Embiid takes it easy then. I recall seeing footage of him just lying on a massage bed on the court during pregame in the playoffs last year but that might be earlier in the day.

I think I'd most like to get an idea of just how big JJ is in reality. Because hes a giant man too who looks like a dwarf in comparison to his teammates. Hes almost a full foot taller than me for example. I can't even imagine how tall someone like Embiid or Boban is.

Good win last night, minus Joel. Not happy Joel is out, but kind of like the fact the guys minus Joel get to gel a bit and get them a bit more comfortable. I know Joel struggled VS BOS, but I generally trust him to fit into whatever we run. Just hoping it's all precautionary and nothing long-term ends up coming of this, of course.

Made no secret of my dislike for BB, but I really love the way this roster has been constructed since the trades. Hope he experiments as much as he needs with whatever to have this team ready for the playoffs, which is all that matters. With this level of talent, it's sink or swim time for Brett, IMO.

I wish the season ended as it did now with PHI / BOS #4 and #5 -- REALLY want Boston in the first round. A series loss probably ousts Brown, and a series win with the struggles this team has had VS BOS probably propels them to a deep playoff run.

Can't wait to see how it plays out. Really like Harris!

Season rides on Embiid's health first, then how the Smith/JSimmons/Ennis bench performs. I trust that Boban and Bolden are as good as any other 12-minute backup centers we'll face, and that TJ does TJ things.

Harris and Butler need to play more like stars and less like rotation pieces, too.

Portland won with both CJ and Damien having off games because they out-rebound us by about 25 boards and got to every loose ball. That was a matter of not putting in the required effort on our part. We also shot like crap until garbage time.

And Bolden defended both Kanter and Nurcic well. Also provided rim protection. BB kept him glued to the bench in the 2nd half for reasons only he knows. Bolden needs about 20 minutes/game, Boban only in small doses.

Sixers with a gutsy win tonight vs. the Magic, No Embid, No Marjanovic, No Bolden. Amir Johnson played and chipped in 13. Redick broke out of his slump and poured in 26. Harris with a nice game too.

Watched the whole game. After 45 minutes of the game I was prepared to come onto this site and question whether we should even consider resigning Jimmy Butler, it doesnt seem he has fit in, disappeared completely from the game and really didnt even seem to be making a huge effort.

Then in the last 3 minutes he literally took over. Offense and Defense. He almost single handily stop the Magic and made most of the plays on offense. It was hysterical, just play after play on both sides of the floor. Now I dont know what to say about the guy, he literally won the game for us after "cruising" for 45 minutes and letting everyone else do their thing. I dont think it is lack of effort, maybe it is just understanding how NBA games are won and lost.

I think it's a bit unfair to judge him at this point since he seems to be embracing the role this team needs him to fill. He's so good defensively and can do what we saw last night through the post season.

Sixers are now a 1/2 game out of the 3rd spot and 2 and a half over the Celtics.

I think the opposite. I think he's consciously being a team player, lessening his own statistics for the balance of the team (Embiid, Simmons and now Harris). When it's crunch time, he's one of the key "can-get-it-done" guys. I think that's his role.

Based on last night I can't really disagree. Like I said, it was crazy to watch a guy do this, but maybe it is just what you are saying, a guy understanding how to do things during the regular season. We will see.

When Butler was traded for their were rumors of a "back room" deal to extend him after the season, I don't know if Butler feels this is the right place for him or not. We really need to go deep into the playoffs to convince him and Harris to resign I suspect, we gave up alot for both of them, they need to be more than rentals.

Whether Harris or Butler resigns should depend on more than whether we perform well this year in the playoffs. Ben and Joel are both still young, and they are our "main guys". We have to be patient with their development, but so do Jimmy and Tobi. This year's results should not be dispositive.

Seems impossible that the Sixers wouldn't be re-signing one of them, as they can offer the most money, no? It's only if they want both that it becomes more complicated, in terms of both money and how all four parts fit. Even so I doubt the playoff results are going to be a big factor. I mean, they are already on the team, if the 76ers flop in the playoffs they will be partially to blame. It's not like last year's Phillies flop (and we all saw how little that mattered).
