When Loria chose to sell the team to the Jeter group instead of Jorge Mas, a deep-pocketed guy with deep ties to the Miami community and a track record of giving back to that community, I wondered what Loria was thinking and what MLB was thinking when it approved the sale. These guys had to scrape and claw for every penny to make it happen and now they are stripping the team down simply because they can't afford it. I see the Marlins in bankruptcy within four years.

So, If I understand this correctly both Marlins fans on this planet have to give $125M?

This may make the Expos look like a well run model of a franchise. Jeter was probably the most overrated player of the last 30 years (he was very good, but Yankees Fans talked about him like he was the best player ever, laughable) to being the worst owner in the history of American Sports (ok, not really true, the Phillies alone have a few that would unseat him). When does the team move? Will anyone in Miami notice?

According to a report on The Score, the Giants are willing to take on all of Stanton's contract in a trade.

Then they likely get him, if he approves a trade and they are as approvable a destination as Marlins likely to find to take on the full salary.

Seattle doesn't have a strong Minor League system, but you give up your #2, your #7 and another pitcher to take the bad contract of a player that just came off an 80 game suspension, when you already have a player that plays his best position. That's thinking outside the box!

Gordon's not really that expensive assuming he doesn't have another off-year. Three of his last four seasons have been good, and he's under 30. Maybe not as valuable at CF, but one assumes it was as much about the allocations.

I will say that I think Cesar is more valuable than Gordon so this helps set the floor for his value
