Don't like it at all, is Robertson really going to be more effective than Appel?
Giving up a potential starter in two years for a middle relief rental is stupid.

The Marsh deal I understand, top prospect two years away who is blocked for a former top prospect who can help now and in the future.

This one gets a big thumbs down.

PS; Robertson already has 5 blown saves this year, so you don't even want to use him past the 7th inning.

Well yes. When healthy Robertson has ALWAYS been a very good pitcher and he is back to his self this year. But it is a 2-month rental for a good prospect and we don't have that many good prospects.

I'd go with SD and Brogdon, and maybe even Knebel.

No way we should be trading a quality prospect here, and although he was listed as 24th on one list, Brown is a quality prospect. Dumb trade.

I guess I'm just all in on them being all in (Dave Dombrowski of old finally shows up!) within reason. When you look at what the price was for Hader and Lopez this does not seem unreasonable. Sticking with what they have also would have been reasonable. But not without risk. Especially if they didn't do anything and decided to spend another month trying to right Familia.

It will be interesting to see who closes. Robertson has been as good as Seranthony so far this year. Imagine they will do this by feel and see if one can claim the job.

I am very disappointed with DD so far. I thought Briwn would be the bargaining chip for Quintana. For Robertson ?

Brown profiles as a reliever with a good fastball but an average breaking ball and no change up (so not a starter long term), and had TJ already. Have to give up something, and we have nothing but hard throwing reliever prospects in the minors.

Don’t love it, but overstated to say terrible IMO. If the Cubs turn him into a starter, then not so great.
