The Grand Junction Daily Sentinal reports that 13th round pick Jack Barker is signing:

Colorado Mesa did lose one incoming recruit to the draft. Outfielder Jack Barker, previously of College of Southern Idaho, was drafted in the 13th round by the Philadelphia Phillies. Barker opted to forgo his commitment to Mesa and will instead report to the Phillies Complex later this week, per a statement from the team.

I guess we'll never know until we know, but I remember when Griff McGarry was supposed to be in the 2022 playoff bullpen, and Kerkering wound up seeming just a bit over his head in '23. Heck, we still don't even know if/how Andrew Painter might pitch for this team in September. At this point he probably preserves his ROTY status; will Phillies really want to start the service clock on Wood?

FCL schedule looks a little bit more frontloaded this year. Last game is on the 24th next week so unlikely we'll see any draft debuts there. College players of course can easily start at Clearwater but doubtful we'll see Fisher this season after he signs (which of course will happen soon).

This article says Landon Schaefer announced he's attending Arkansas but doesn't provide a source or link to the news.

4 Signing Class Remains Mostly Intact

Despite owning the No. 4 signing class in the country, Arkansas had only two high school signees selected in the MLB Draft — and one of them has already announced he’s coming to school. Even if McLane Moody signs with the Pirates and skips college, the Razorbacks will still have plenty of young talent to work with next year.

Not only is Landon Schaefer (No. 71 on Perfect Game) making it to campus, but so are Jordan Martin (No. 75), Carson Brumbaugh (No. 77), Peyton Lee (No. 166), Alexander Peck (No. 175), Joey Lorenzini (No. 218), Tye Briscoe (No. 256), Luke Cornelison (No. 262) and Mark Brissey (No. 265).

Schaefer was always a fallback, though I guess even if he is working out on campus, it really does not matter till the Fall and class registration which is well after the draft deadline. Big question for the Phillies is really much more about whether they have enough left over for Dawson assuming they have a good idea of what it will take for Fisher and Ferrara.

Fayetteville High School graduate Landon Schaefer told the Southwest Times Record he will enroll at Arkansas after getting drafted in the 20th round Monday. MLB Pipeline ranked the local product No. 125 among this year's draft prospects, and there was an expectation Schaefer would get picked in the first five rounds and put pen to paper on a large signing bonus.

since Schaeffer was the fifth to last pick in the draft, its possible if they were taking someone who would definitely sign, that pick would have likely been one of the UDFA's they ended up signing, so its a clever use of the pick to lock in a HS kid with that pick instead. they didn't really lose out on anything if he doesn't sign.

Dawson does seem up in the air. Article talks about how much he loves the Phillies and that he worked out at CBP last week. But is also at Boston College orientation.
