They are focused on speed, I think that reflects having Harper and Walker on long-term deals, and possibly extending Bohm. So limited opportunities in the future for 1B/LF/DH types - they want prospects who can play the field and protect hit first guys.

Very up and down career. Hill dominated the Cape last year but was awful this year. College results suggests big arm and command issues, though I think he is more mid-90s than upper 90s.

Barber has always done less of that than others. We do have potential pool savings early though. Nori really should not get full slot. It won't be a huge discount, but hopefully enough to have $500K available for an 11th round pick.

Not sure logistical issues are often a problem, 3 OF spots, and you want a minor league CF to play all three - what if Crawford or Rojas have CF locked down when they arrive?

And minor leagues get dinged a lot, plus odds that two prospects will have same developmental path is unlikely, for example I'd bet on Burkholder starting in FCL, maybe even next year if they need to rebuild his swing. Meanwhile, Nori has a shot at Clearwater if he's a year older and fundamentally sound as a hitter.

The nice thing about the current draft/signing schedule is that we'll find out in a few days, one way or another.

I always figured the draft was 3 days so teams can call around after day 2 and figure out both how much they have available for day 3 and also which players are signable. Barber signs virtually everyone, so we'll have a pretty good idea of who the one or two overslot guys are tomorrow.

Yes we will. If they're going at all seriously overslot, that will happen in the 11th round (and maybe the 12th, as well). It'll be fairly obvious if the guys picked there need more than $150k to sign. After the 12th, it's fill out the rosters time.

You can't just move a fast, athletic OF to a corner OF if he isn't a plus hitter. Marsh has flexibility. Rojas and Crawford cannot. Nori? Best player in his state? Not saying much when the state is a baseball backwater.

I thought Crawford was supposed to have corner OF potential if he reached his offensive ceiling. But I also think Marsh is a low bar, which is kind of the point - the everyday major league LF or RF right now looks more like Marsh (and many of them are in fact, worse) than 2019 Harper if they are really strong defenders too.

I think we all just assumed Crawford would grow into his dad's power but he really hasn't yet. He definitely has the frame to add more power. Not really the swing at the moment though.

CD is right that Crawford is a logical trade target. Whether other teams are asking for him is a different question. I assume we are hesitant to trade Painter at a discount in his rehab. And Miller is the high profile hot prospect at the moment. Guessing we'd trade Caba in the right deal though. And really anyone else ranked below Caba.

I think b/c the good hit/bad field LFs are now DHs.

And I'm thinking more in terms of a young OF learning to play all three positions b/c odds are if he can't beat out Rojas or Crawford, if he isn't traded, then 4th OF is in his future - see Pache.
