I don;t think that MLB really cares about cheating until it starts costing them in some way. They care about the sticky stuff now in part because their product has deteriorated due to the lack of offense and due to the bad publicity.

Not sure what SVR effect is to know what that trend is really telling me. I am guessing it is some type of unit-less number interpretation of the spin effect.

It seems like there is some type of odd increase during season every year, which happened this year, but then of course it fell of a cliff. Guessing the increase that is half way through the season is weather related (better effects in warmer weather??).

Since the enforcement memo dropped:
* 63 pitchers (17%) have dropped 2+ standard deviations (spider tack level, 230+ RPM)
* 145 pitchers (38%) have dropped 1+ SD
* 230+ pitchers (60+%) have dropped enough to call the drop ‘statistically significant’ via @choice_fielder

I would hate to think the Phillies' relievers were cheating. More satisfying to think they have been so bad because they refused to join the mob of cheaters. To cheat and suck so bad would be indeed sad.
