This is only 2 national games a week on Peacock and 2 more on Apple. So probably once a month for the Phillies. The bulk of the games will still be owned by NBC Sports Philly. All MLB is doing is chiseling away tiny pieces of the local packages to get more national money.

Anything that makes less Joe Buck is better, but that will make MNF unwatchable. At least he won’t be teamed with Troy “the field is green” Aikman anymore.

I couldn't even tell you who was calling MNF before, and I was pretty done with Michaels and Collinsworth too. I actually think Buck is okay on football. Are any national announcers really ever beloved? I noticed hating Romo became trendy this season too (whereas for a few seasons before that praising his genius was trendy).

Peacock MLB deal might be for Sunday early games (really early with some at 11:30 AM) instead of the Monday/Wednesday games.

The old TBS game, except earlier. Does that mean those teams would also get a 1pm or 4pm game on that Saturday before?

The patchwork really is a little much but if there's 4-5 games I can't watch - don't imagine it would be more than that unless the Phillies end up being a top team - there's still the audio (once I get MLB.TV again).

Not knowing who the announcers are is a good thing in my opinion. I don’t care about them, I only notice them when they say stupid things (Aikman, Aikman and we’ll, Aikman again, and Collingsworth) or are just generally annoying (Buck, Cosell, others). Give me Ian Eagle, etc any time. Only a few are actually good and insightful (the late, great Madden, Booger McFarland, “Moose” Johnston, etc.)

I think some of them were in an earlier generation, when local broadcasts weren't as numerous and there were only a few national networks broadcasting sports. Gowdy, Garagiola, Summerall, Madden, Enberg, Lindsey Nelson, and others were liked by almost everyone.

Most announcers don't bother me. The ones who try to make themselves the focus are the ones that annoy me--Howard Cosell, John Sterling, Romo to an extent.

New prices for MLB.TV package.

I did get a coming soon message on my Tmobile App for MLB.TV though, so if one has Tmobile for phone or internet it looks like they are giving this away for free again.

Note the Tmobile deal is only available for a week (starting next Tuesday likely). I got Tmobile internet last year over the summer and there was no way to get the MLB.TV package then.

probably too many moving parts (my wife's phone, whether I want a new phone) for me to worry about it.

Feels like they are sticking it to us (the people who cancelled during the lockout) a little bit with that $10 raise, especially given the new national packages peeling off some games.

I would imagine you are in-market, unless your local cable package defaults to Pittsburgh or New York. And even then you can still get hosed sometimes.

Definitely annoying. And I am guessing you did not get all 4 teams on your local cable. MLB should only blackout one city's teams from any zip code. So for you that would be either the Phillies or the Yankees/Mets. The Pirate blackout seems beyond ridiculous.

Looks like the Peacock deal will be for 18 Sunday early games (exclusive) but also some Monday and Wednesday non-exclusive games.
