I thought it was unusual too. By quick glance I want to say 8 from this years draft class made it including Skenes at #3 overall and Crews at #4

Article Says Crawford has the most speed of the top 100. And Painter has the best Control.

On the bad news.. Says Phormer Phil Ben Brown has the best curveball

ESPN organizational ranking has us up to 19. Probably has more to do with other organizations having graduations. Probably not lowering the value on Painter either.

Just goes to show that prospects are unpredictable. Abel & McGarry made Brown expendable but,, alas, Brown is now the best prospect of the three.

Working our way towards middle of the pack is pretty good considering where the system was and the picks we skipped due to Free Agents. The org’s development process seems to have been stabilized after years of abysmal hitting instruction, all while the team contends.

Really can’t say enough about the job that Dombrowski has done with the Phillies.

That is bullish on Caba and Tait. Rincon too, though like last year the second half of our top 10 is just not that impressive compared to other teams.

Hoped for the development of control/command didn't happen. It still could but he doesn't deserve a top 10 rank. Only 3 pitchers in the top 10 reinforces my belief that we must go after pitching this off-season.

But why this off-season? Other than Nola of course. Wait another year to sign or trade for another Taijuan Walker, depending on how Abel does and whether they re-sign Wheeler. Painter starts 2025 right where he started 2023 IMO (in the mix but can't count on him). McGarry's headed for the pen either way I reckon.

Interesting (to me) nugget from the Hook Like and Splitter pod interview with Preston Mattingly was his response when asked "Who would win a race between Crawford, Boyd, and Fergus" he responded that they all ran the 30 within 1/10th of a second of each other, and added that Avery Owusu-Asiedu was faster than any of them.
