The Padres' schedule may be somewhat tougher than ours with three games against Cardinals, four against the Dodgers, three in Colorado which can be a tough place to play even when the Rockies are bad (50-44 at Coors Field this year) and three against the competitive (and, at the moment, barely contending) White Sox. In terms of the last ten games, the Brewers are currently the hottest of the three (7-3, Padres are 6-4, Phillies are 5-5). If I was a betting man, I might place my money on the Brewers surging to the second wildcard and leaving it to the Phillies and Padres to win (or back into) the third wildcard. Interestingly, the Brewers FO largely selling at the deadline (Hader to Padres, a deal which angered the Brewers' clubhouse considerably) just might be something that is energizing the clubhouse and Hader has been pretty bad this season--especially for the Padres--while Devin Williams has seized the day taking over for Hader.
