Did this site go for several days without the little numbers in blue for each topic? They designate new posts that I haven't read yet, and I couldn't imagine that no one had posted for several days. In any case, I'm glad to see them back. Helps my browsing.

Hmm. I have not seen that. I do note that if you don't refresh the page - if it's just open in your browser - the parenthetic number in the nav bar, next to the "Unread" button, updates automatically, but the little blue dots with numbers do not appear unless you refresh the page. (This is in the top "Categories" page, which is what I use as "home" - if you're looking at a different page, YMMV.)

Trust me, it will pass. Full disclosure - I've been here since a couple days before we went live, and spent time, on and off, for about three weeks before that on a "beta" version Chris put up, so I've had more time than most of you (any of you!) to get up the learning curve. But it gets easier; things just work, when you learn how they work.

Further to donaldorc's comment about the blue "new post" markers - I'm still seeing the same behavior as before/right along. If you don't refresh the page... if you just switch to another tab or another browser window, and come back a bit (or four hours) later, the "Unread" link at the top will indicate how many unread posts there are, but there are no blue dots showing. If you refresh/reload the page, they appear.

In other words, the "Unread" indicator is being live-updated, even with the page in the background - but the rest of the page is not updated until you reload it.

When you enter the new site, the threads with the latest posts are listed on the right side of your computer screen (assuming you're not on a mobile device). The threads are sorted with the thread with the most recent posting activity at the top. Threads with "new" posts (ones you have not read) will have a little blue indicator dot, with a number indicating how many new posts there are in that thread. If you click on the thread title, it will take you to the first unread post in the thread.

Alternatively, you can move to a different view - In the navigation menu (below the red header bar), the default is "Categories," which gives you a list of the categories (sub-forums), as well as a list of threads with the latest posts. If you change from "Categories" to "Latest," you get just a list of thread with recent posts (the most recent at the top). Click on a thread to enter it - it will jump to the oldest post you have not read. There's also a view ("New") that lists only threads that are new to you, a view ("Unread") that lists only threads with posts you have not yet read, and a view ("Top") that lets you see the most active threads over a time period you can change.

I have not been posting much since the advent of the new system...and probably won't much in the future. That's because I have been on Hospice Home Care for about 10 days now. I am kinda drugged up much of the time but hanging in there. I would hasten to add that I am very much at peace with my situation, largely because of the help of Hospice and my wonderful wife and daughter. They have been my "crutches" for months now.
