Plus, it’s expensive and logistically difficult. All ballparks, including minor leagues and spring training facilities (diamonds, bullpens, and practice fields) would have to be changed, and some of those are used for other amateur baseball games. Presently, pitchers throw from 60’6” starting after little league. Would 13 year olds be expected to throw at the longer distance? Will all youth and school fields need to be redone?
If this were done, I foresee a long transition period with lots of walks, and perhaps some pitchers getting hurt.
