I was surprised the Game 1 crowd booed Ohtani so immediately and reflexively. I assume some of that is related to the gambling stuff.
Whereas, I went to the Flyers game last night and the opposing team always gets a round of boos the minute they take the ice (even in warm-ups) as well as the "SUCKS" cry during introductions. And Brad Marchand also gets booed every time he touches the puck, which is not unique to Philly.
But Ohtani? I was excited to have a ticket to see him. And even more excited to see him marginalized as a factor in the game.
