Putting this in former Phillies but it really could go into any category. Michael Schwimmer's company is now giving NIL advances for a cut of their career professional salaries. At some point one needs to ask if this goes too far. The Tatis deal already seems abusive.

At the time, Brown looked expendable because he was behind both Abel and McGarry (and Painter) on the depth chart. Of course, if they could borrow Doc Brown's Delorean and go back to that day, they give the Cubs McGarry for Robertson.
And I am guessing the Cubs asked for him and we said no at the time. Brown was seen as a pretty good prospect at the time though having a breakout year. He wasn't seen as top 100 yet but also was not that far away. Still a trade we probably make every time though.
Craig Kimbrel has struck out 13 of the 24 hitters he has faced this year with 0 BBs and only 3 singles against. And his stuff appears much more hittable at the same time. Probably not sustainable but fascinating how he has had pretty good results the last few years.
Kimbrel was good for us most of last year until he ran out of gas in October.
Marlins trying to convert Sixto back to a starter. Results haven't been good.

I wonder if he learned a new pitch. This year is lowest K-rate of his career, coupled with lowest H/9 and much lower HR rate, with tied for career lowest BB rate.
Yeah he added a cutter, and has also gone all-in on video and analytics. There was a whole article about it, possibly already posted in this thread (can't quickly re-find it Googling).
Jake Diekmann loses his cool.
Interesting article starting with Travis Chapman who is now the Yankees 1B coach but back in 2017 was managing their DSL team. Maybe he is a real life Moonlight Graham. He got all of 1 MLB AB with the Phillies and that was it.
Moonlight Graham was also a real life Moonlight Graham.

Tonights game against the Giants might be former Phillies night. Erik Miller gets the start in a bullpen game (though he pitched last night so will probably only go an inning). And old friend Spencer Howard was just recalled to serve as a bulk reliever tonight.
Rhys Hoskins was running on the field today and has some more strides to take in that area literally and figuratively, but it’s not out of the question he gets activated in time for a return to Philadelphia next week, Pat Murphy said.— Curt Hogg ( @CyrtHogg ) May 28, 2024

It's extremely funny to me that some of the people taking their UK vacations for the baseball game are also going to Wrexham.
One-time Phillies draft pick Cavan Biggio (Phillies took a flier on him in 301eknowing his college commitment was solid, didn't sign) DFA'd by Blue Jays. Another hot prospect who never became a star.
