Yeah I wondered that too, but it was a lat strain that didn't take him out until May 5 (and then he went on the 60 a week later). Could still be though.
Of course as we know luck is the residue of design, I'd say the combination of GM, pitching coaches and manager also had a lot to do with the awful string of relievers. But, for sure, they just hit on even fewer guys than you'd think you might just be accident (be they vets or youngsters). Dombrowski has not been immune (Ian Kennedy, Familia, Kintzler - with Bradley and Knebel both having their ups and downs) and he'll surely miss on one or two guys this year but Thomson is better equipped to handle that.
