Bour's track record is significantly longer/more consistent (and better). Plus, lefthanded. Joseph and Ruf couldn't make a major league roster at any price; Bour was just a little too expensive.

Hoby Milner clears waivers and the Indians outright him to AAA. I wonder if he'll be a rare two-time Rule 5 pick though anybody could have picked him on waivers and kept him without having to keep him on the 25 man all season.

I think Bour becomes a free agent and signs with another MLB team for far more than he can be paid overseas. He won't get the amount projected for him in arbitration but if he gets half that, it will be much more than overseas.

Korea has certainly risen as a destination the last few years. Probably something like AA ball.

Former Phillies Josh Lindblom (15-4, 2.88 ERA) and Lisalverto Bonilla (7-10, 5.30 ERA) among the best and worst imported pitchers over there too. Assume Joseph will do well (900+ OPS). Ruf was only tied for 9th in HRs so it is an offensive league.

Ruf and Joseph would only make $50,000 a year (less, I think) in AAA. An easy call, even if call-ups might have put more money (and pension/health insurance/service time) in their pocket. Bour's not gonna have any trouble getting seven figures. Just very low seven figures.

Weird we never heard any more about Bour, guess he's still a Phillie for a few more days.

So long old friend. Jerome WIlliams had a weird career with the Phillies. Picked up on waivers in 2014 where he looked like an ace over 9 games, followed by an abysmal season in 2015.
