I agree the standard should be high, and we also don't know what's really what (plus like you say, small sample). But the way I read Flyers' speculation was that he's in Lakewood rather than Clearwater because whatever he was learning last year no longer applies (new system director, new minor league hitting instructor) and they want to give him a little time to put it into practice.
I mean, given how he actually performed last year can we really say A) that he doesn't need work or B) that he looked ready for Clearwater?
