That is just a far cry from performing as well as other RHPs in the draft. He probably would have had a 4.50-5.00 ERA in Clearwater this year (remember Lakewood is an extreme pitcher's park).

You mean more developed players would perform at higher levels better than players who are not as experienced or require more development?

Well he has a 4.38 road ERA in Lakewood. Clearwater is a more neutral park in a tougher league. No crystal ball of course, but a 4.50-5.00 ERA in A+ is probably on the better end of what most baseball people would project. A pitcher can make progress while one can honestly say he is not performing as well as his peers because he is pitching at a lower level in a pitcher's park. High draft picks do have some expectations. Saying he is doing better than 10th round selections is not telling me much.

The very rough general guideline for pitchers jumping a level is to add 0,60 ERA points, but, as Andy points out, he would also be going from a pitchers' park in a pitchers' league to a more neutral park (in the FSL, which is also considered a pitchers' league).

As a rough guess, adding 0.60 points to his road ERA seems reasonable, but it still is just a guess.

Fair enough...

So in the two month sample size i was referring to 6 of those were road games...in those 6 games he gave up 7 earned runs in 31 innings...so that's a 2.03 ERA.
