Might not mean anything significant...but then perhaps it may. Lucas Williams, a former 3rd round pick that sort of came out of nowhere in the draft a few years ago, is 12-26 with 3 home runs in his last 6 games. I remember that Pat Gillick scouted him and absolutely loved him.

Worth keeping an eye on going forward.

Juan Escorcia for Williamsport - 22 year old Colombian cast off by the Yankees in 2016 - is shockingly good in his Phillies debut.

Mitch Rupert says he was mid-90s in extended with a nasty hook until a recent illness sapped some velo. 91-92 last night.

He was more 90-92 when he signed, though of course he was 17 then. His control was really bad with the Yankees at GCL, so maybe he figured some things out in the past year when he sat out. Of course he is 22 in short season, so no expectations and the performance really does not mean too much (kind of like Rosso who is the same age) until he does it at higher levels.

Clearly something more than an illness is going on with him.

"News about Mickey Moniak--he's been in and out of the lineup with severe headaches, and the cause was diagnosed as 4 impacted wisdom teeth. He had the teeth removed yesterday, and is expected back in the lineup by the weekend. The source for this is his father, who posts at phuturephillies occasionally."
