July 2018 Minor League Transactions

Several random tidbits from today's scan of minor-league transactions:

1. Jake Kinney is now shown as officially signed - on July 16th - and assigned to the GCL Phillies East as of today.

2. The Phils have signed Tyler Fallwell, a 22-year-old RHP who was drafted by the Royals in 2016, and released from their Sally League club (Lexington) last October. Fallwell has been assigned to Lakewood.

3. The Phillies signed Australian catcher Mitchell Warke-Edwards on June 8th, and assigned him to the GCL Phillies East yesterday - he's catching the second game today. He's an 18-year-old from Melbourne.

Anyone hear of anything from Jake Kinney. Pitched 1 inning on 7/11 and nothing since. thought it was a pretty good singing and a 21 year old. not shown on the DL. Maybe working on some stuff. or did he pitch too much this year?

Read three or four posts up, in this thread.

Also see Kinney's milb.com page. I had assumed the goofy transactions history there (e.g., "assigned to GCL on 7/11, signed on 7/16, assigned to GCL on 7/20) was the usual mlbam incompetence. But perhaps something else was going on - for instance, maybe the Commissioner's Office had some issue with Kinney's original contract, and the Phils had to "re-sign" him - so he actually DID sign on the 16th? If that's the case, that would explain why Kinney "disappeared" after 7/11.
