Seems to me he would be a guy that could latch on somewhere else if he wanted to - but maybe the thought of making less than $1,500 per month working 10-12 hour days, 7 days a week, just doesn't appeal to him as much as finishing his degree and getting a real job. He was a part time starter in Lakewood and given the other players at his position in Clearwater and Lakewood, tough to see him getting an opportunity for much playing time. Also, keep in mind that the players don't get paid while in extended spring training so getting assigned to Williamsport means even less money over the course of a season for a player.
