The first person I really talked to on this board was Phan_In_Bama, who was a really nice retired guy. He disappeared after this season and I assume we probably lost him, but at the time he really was the color commentator for our various play - play people. Always used ........... and ......... around his comments, pretty much commented on every inning. I wish you well wherever you are sir.
It always strikes me as funny to see Moyer's name from that period. Although he will never really be a candidate for the Wall of Fame, he was the guy that won many (most) of the BIG games from that period. He wasnt a great pitcher, but he was one of those guys that could muster up a good game when you really needed one. Although I am a sabermetric fan, he is one of those guys that was simply more valuable than his WAR, etc.
