Actually, the Phillies need to add two starters to slot ahead of Nola and Gibson for next season. Then hope Nola can bounce back to have a solid year. One of the added pitchers should be a lefty.

And yes, they have to address fielding. I'm not sure how to do that but far too often this season, shoddy fielding has made the pitcher's job much harder.

Only way they add two pitchers is if they trade Eflin or Nola. It's just that doing the latter looks a lot less unimaginable than it was a year ago. Wheeler Gibson Suarez Eflin Nola is still five guys; another top SP on a multi-year deal is not the best use of next year's $ given all the other holes. The rotation was still not the teams first, second or third problem most of this year, though maybe it's third now given recent developments and the stablized bullpen.
